JOB DESCRIPTION
Vital Leaf is seeking a Director of Business Development to ​drive our company’s business, increase revenue, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding the presence of the company and its brand. This position will work alongside the Director of Operations and oversee the sales and marketing team, track new markets, emerging trends, propose and develop new strategic partnerships, and develop long-term objectives to hit the company’s ambitious growth goals.

COMPENSATION: ​$50,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience


DUTIES OF THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR INCLUDE:
●  Take ownership of the sales and marketing functions of the business

●  Create a strategic Sales and Marketing plan for our online and retail channels

●  Propose sales and marketing goals and ensure the proper resources are in place to reach these metrics

●  Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company`s ambitious growth

●  Research, planning and coordinating the penetration of new markets

●  Provide reports to the company leadership regarding performance for each market and region

●  Market research and feedback on competitive offerings

●  Establish sales goals and metrics for the company and sales teams

●  Develop sales strategies and work with creative team to develop sales presentations & materials

●  Provide effective coaching and conduct weekly accountability sessions

●  Conduct huddles to keep the team focused and on task

●  Maintain strong relationships with the leadership team and sales team


SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
●  Minimum 5 years professional experience developing strategic sales partnerships for retail and/or e-commerce markets

●  Sales experience in food or natural product industries preferred

●  Adept at Spreadsheets to forecast sales activity and creating reports

●  Knowledgeable and skilled in marketing theories and best practices

●  Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions

●  Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business

●  Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads

●  Experience driving e-commerce and brick and mortar sales

●  Must display a passion for growing a business

●  Strong focus on exceptional client experience

●  Maintains a high commitment to personal and professional growth

●  Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs with expertise using spreadsheet formulas

●  Experience actively supervising and motivating a team

●  Effective time​ management. ​Candidate must manage time and multiple tasks effectively and be willing to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.

●  Technically Competent ​- This position requires the candidate be computer savvy and proficient with CRM applications, google drive, word processing, and spreadsheets.
