GloryBee Factory Store Closes As Company Celebrates Legacy

June 16th 2020

GloryBee Factory StoreEugene, OR- June 16, 2020GloryBee has made the decision to permanently close their Factory Store at Highway 99 and Airport Road in Eugene on Saturday, June 27.  RaeJean Wilson, daughter of GloryBee founders Dick and Pat Turanski, says “This decision was not made lightly.  My parents began selling to customers out of their family garage in 1975, and the Factory Store grew and evolved over the years to what it is today.”

The GloryBee Factory Store has been part of the company’s legacy and relationship with the community for more than 45 years serving local beekeepers and lovers of honey and other natural and organic ingredients via their brick-and-mortar store.

“As we celebrate this legacy, we also want to celebrate this as a positive change which will allow the company to continue to streamline business operations and focus on paving the way to a profitable future,” adds Wilson.   GloryBee’s primary business is supplying ingredients to food & beverage manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors, retailers, and bakeries.  This decision is a step towards focusing their resources on growing that core business.  Customers will still be able to purchase GloryBee products and beekeeping supplies via e-commerce, as well as from other local retailers.

As a business originally inspired by a love of beekeeping, GloryBee has supported Pacific Northwest beekeepers and actively sourced and promoted organic and Non-GMO products. In 2012, GloryBee launched the SAVE the BEE® Initiative to raise awareness of the plight of honeybees and their impact as pollinators on our food supply. SAVE the BEE has contributed over half a million dollars to support research and education on honeybee health. Wilson reiterates that, “GloryBee’s vision is a healthy world where bees and people thrive.”
