Maggie’s Organics Celebrate 25 Years of Fair Trade Organic Apparel!

November 14th 2017

Maggie’s Organics, Dexter, Michigan, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2017. Maggie’s has been a leader in fair trade and organic apparel since 1992. Their mission has been to ensure that every step of their supply chain – from farm to finish – is fair and equitable, while creating and producing classic, beautiful and affordable pieces for season after season of wear.

Maggie’s new Holiday Socks are flying off the shelves! Made in the USA, these certified organic merino wool socks come in three selections: A wine-colored Moose design, Snowfall in a powder blue and Forest in a roast and green colorway. These three novel and whimsical patterns are washable and super soft with an all-over cushion.

Another new design, the Sweater Sock is available in three colors in a lighter-weight washable wool for everyday wear and a knit-in winter design making it the perfect gift.

Maggie’s believes in contributing to programs that are important to them as a company.

Currently, they are proud to be donating 20 percent of the sales from each pair of its specially chosen Love Your Neighbor sock to support Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work with migrants and refugees around the world. Says Maggie’s Organics founder, Bena Burda, working with CRS on this project helps “to further our mission to help create a more just and equitable world. We believe in cause marketing and are proud to produce quality, organic products while also supporting efforts to improve people’s lives here and around the world. We are excited to work with Catholic Relief Services both globally and nationally because their work is so impactful.”

Maggie’s also give portions of their sales proceeds on their Bee Keeper Socks to Friends of the Earth to help save the dwindling bee population and on select apparel items to their Peruvian Farmers who lost much of their crops to a drought and subsequent flood due to climate change.

Recently, they contributed 1200 pair of socks to Grass Roots Alliance for their hurricane relief project in Immokalee, Florida.
