We specialize in supplying high-quality bulk herbs, spices, teas, essential oils, and natural body care products from all over the world. All products go through our onsite lab. We sell to customers in the US and Canada for everyone from the at-home tea drinker to stores, tea houses, co-ops. Etc We’ve actually lead the way within the industry with programs such as Zero Waste practices and going beyond Fair Trade.

 

General Description:
This is a full-time, fast-paced position that requires overseeing a team of five full-time marketing staff who juggle multiple priorities under strict deadlines. The Marketing Director oversees all marketing activities for Mountain Rose Herbs. The ideal candidate is a skilled manager and expert communicator with digital marketing knowledge. Organized, creative, tech-savvy, and analytical, they have the ability to work well independently or in a team. Experience with the natural products industry, e-commerce, influencer marketing, and/or Hubspot is a plus.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:           

  • 3+ years of previous management experience.
  • Previous marketing experience and a bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience and/or interest in the natural products industry including herbal knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively manage a significant expense budget.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Comfort with public speaking and representing the company at events.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform accurate work with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and staff across departments, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to problem-solve, and work within a collaborative team-oriented environment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Manage a team of five full-time marketing staff. This includes hiring, training, performance managing, and keeping employees engaged while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  2. Ensure the marketing strategies are aligned with company objectives, including finding new ways to garner sustainable revenue.
  3. Manage the company’s marketing budget. Suggest allocations annually and oversee approved budgets.
  4. Ensure marketing efforts comply with various regulations, including those related to FDA and FTC, and nexus.
  5. Participate in media and press interviews, publicly accept awards, and participate in public speaking engagements on the company’s behalf.
  6. Oversee content creation, recipe development, and write stories for the annual catalog and other direct mail. Serve as the catalog project manager.
  7. Oversee all external company communications to ensure that copywriting and content exhibit a consistent tone.
  8. Maintain internal communications to ensure that other managers and executives are informed of marketing projects and objectives.
  9. Oversee staff implementation of key marketing activities, including email marketing, PPC and other digital advertising campaigns, social media, public relations, influencer marketing, events and experiential marketing, customer surveys, award nominations, print advertising, and the company’s blog.
  10. Stay abreast of competition and industry trends.
  11. Coordinate regular department and one-on-one meetings to discuss projects and provide guidance for marketing team members.
  12. Work closely with various departments, including Customer Service, Creative, Products, and Procurement.
  13. Participate in website revisions and redesigns.
  14. Regularly analyze sales, website analytics, and eCommerce trends.
  15. Willingness to learn and perform new procedures, equipment, and technologies.
  16. Be aware of, follow, and enforce rules laid out not only in the Employee Handbook but any/all applicable laws and guidelines for employee privacy, confidentiality, etc.
  17. Follow company procedures and protocols.
  18. Other duties, as assigned.
