MARKETING MANAGER

 The Marketing Manager is responsible for all marketing systems that will empower the Co-op’s management and employees to effectively tell the Co-op story. The Marketing Manager will serve the Co-op by planning, directing and evaluating Marketing and Education Department initiatives, and managing Department operations, employees and vendor relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the Marketing and Education Department to effectively convey the Co-op brand to all potential audiences.
  • Work directly with the Store Manager and other Managers on promotional and merchandising opportunities.
  • Participate on the Administrative Leadership Team and the Management Team.
  • Work with General Manager and Finance Manager to develop and oversee marketing budgets.
  • Attend and participate in board meetings and on board committees at the request of the General Manager.
  • Represent the Co-op effectively within its community, the industry and the cooperative world.
  • Ensure development and delivery of relevant education to the broader community.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of Marketing experience
  • 3 years of Management experience preferred
  • Proven marketing and advertising skills
  • Experience in visual design
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Writing and editorial experience
  • Knowledge of cooperatives and their governance is preferred
  • Knowledge of the Natural Foods industry
  • Proven ability to work within a budget and marketing plan
  • Ability to model participatory leadership qualities
  • Proven organizational and multitasking skills
