Eugene, Oregon – In response to the changes in local plastic recycling policies, Mountain Rose Herbs (MRH) is hosting a week-long Take Back Recycling Event from Monday, November 12 through Sunday, November 18. The event will take place at the Mountain Rose Herbs Mercantile at 152 W 5th Avenue, Eugene.
Mountain Rose Herbs will be accepting clean MRH plastic product packaging, including:
Plastic herb bags (no kraft bags or plant cellulose bags)
Plastic bottles and lids
Plastic jars and lids
Plastic capsule bottles and lids
Plastic pumps and misters
Plastic essential oil tops
Plastic spice jar tops
They ask that participants double check that all packaging materials are clean and dry to help keep the recycling stream clean.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this event for the second time,” said MRH Sustainability Director Alyssa Bascue. “As a Platinum TRUE Zero Waste Certified facility, it is important to lead by example. Our plastic packaging that would otherwise end up in the landfill will have a second life. Packaging collected at the event will be made into pellets used to create plastic lumber, which is used to create recycled plastic picnic tables and benches.”
