Selecting a ‘northern star’ to guide your company’s climate mitigation activities is critical to shape company culture and prioritize climate efforts. Attend this expert panel discussion to learn about the many climate commitments that are gaining traction, such as Net Zero, Climate Neutral, and Climate Positive. The panel will unpack how these compare and contrast, and examine actions that natural product companies are taking to achieve these commitments based on common emission hotspots. Discussion will also examine various collaborative movements whose efforts help companies move beyond reducing emissions to create industry-scale impacts.


BIOS:
Lisa Spicka –
As the Director of Sustainability Consulting at NSF, Lisa ensure clients receive excellent climate, strategy, and supply chain assurance consulting solutions from her team. Additional duties include working with peers to identify cross-departmental opportunities, and managing the operations and finances (P&L) of her division. She previously served as Associate Director & Interim Executive Director at the Sustainable Food Trade Association (SFTA). Her work included sustainability reporting, new and proprietary analytic sustainability tools, B Corp certification, workshops, webinars, and service provider projects that provide exclusive access to tools and services.

Lisa BraunLisa is the Sustainability Technical Services Manager for the Organic Trade Association, where she loves providing members with expertise, tools, and techniques for measuring and managing their sustainability programs. Lisa specializes in greenhouse gas accounting and climate action planning and believes that creating a sustainable food system is integral to tackling climate change.

 

 

Darcy Shiber-Knowles – Darcy Shiber-Knowles (she/her) is the Director of Operational Sustainability and Innovation at Dr. Bronner’s. Since 2013, Darcy has led Dr. Bronner’s sustainability efforts including securing 100% renewable power, driving environmental footprinting and reporting, creating the world’s first-ever Fair Trade Internship Program, leading the company’s path to Climate Positivity, serving on the Steering Committee for the B Corp Climate Collective, and launching the company’s internal Green Team to engage employees in environmental work. At Dr. Bronner’s Darcy oversees global sustainability as well as leading quality, research & development, and compliance with Dr. Bronner’s many third-party certifications, including B Corp, USDA Organic, Regenerative Organic, Fair Trade, Vegan, and more. Darcy holds a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science from Barnard College at Columbia University, and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Caitlin Oleson – Caitlin is the Operations & Programming Manager at the Climate Collaborative. Her responsibilities include assistance with outreach and programming efforts along with administrative support. Prior to the Climate Collaborative, Caitlin worked primarily in the nonprofit sector with targeted audiences around civic and voter engagement.
