Rebellyous Foods Wins KeHE On Trend® Frozen Award, Celebrates East Coast Expansion

Seattle, WA –  Rebellyous Foods, a company that creates groundbreaking manufacturing technology for plant-based meats, announced today the expanded availability of its award winning plant-based nuggets and tenders. Beginning this week the products will be available at 66 Albertsons locations in the Mid-Atlantic region including Safeway and Acme stores, encompassing Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Rebellyous Foods’ plant-based nuggets also won the KeHE On Trend® Frozen Award, a top honor from one of North America’s largest food distributors. More than 200 brands applied for the award. A team of innovation gurus judged products on factors including ingredients, innovation, taste, price, packaging, people, and purpose. Rebellyous’ crispy, juicy plant-based nuggets came out on top in the frozen category.

Rebellyous Nuggets and Tenders are 100% plant-based with no cholesterol, antibiotics, or hormones, and less saturated fat than their chicken counterparts. Shoppers will be able to find the products in the freezer case for $5.99.

The expansion of these plant-based chicken products comes at a time when sales of plant-based chicken are exploding. According to SPINS data, plant-based chicken is growing at a rate of 18 percent, more than four times higher than chicken from animals, which has grown at a rate of 4 percent.
