Sustainable Food Trade Association Selects New Officers

Organic Valley’s Jonathan Reinbold to be SFTA board president

New Castle, VA (March 20, 2018) The Sustainable Food Trade Association (SFTA) Board of Directors elected Jonathan Reinbold, Organic Valley’s head of sustainability, as SFTA board president at its March 8, 2018 board and annual member meeting in Anaheim, CA.

Other SFTA officer appointments include: Vice President Renaud des Rosiers (Amy’s Kitchen), Treasurer, Bri Saseen (Chico Natural Foods Co-op), and Secretary Peter Golbitz, (Agromeris, LLC). Derek Singer of Stonyfield Farm rounds out the Executive Team.

“I’ve dedicated my career to sustainable food systems and was thrilled to join the SFTA Board in 2015.  Since then, I’ve seen the influence that this organization wields in the natural and organic food industry.  It’s a privilege to assume the role of Board President as we advance sustainability as a core value within the industry,” said Reinbold.

In 2017, Reinbold was instrumental in creating a solar community partnership that will enable Organic Valley to become the largest food company in the world to source 100 percent of its electricity from renewable sources. In launching the first of its kind partnership, Organic Valley has embarked on an aggressive path to become carbon neutral.

The nine-member board consists of newly elected, appointed, and returning members.

Newly elected board members are:

  • Tiffany Tran, Senior Sustainability Analyst at Annie’s Inc.;
  • Shandy Carroll, Sustainability Manager at GloryBee;
  • Manuel Gorrin, Sustainability & Stewardship Manager at Nature’s Path Foods and
  • Renaud des Rosiers, Sustainability Manager at Amy’s Kitchen

The board appointed Nova Sayers, Senior Business Development Manager at NSF International.

Returning members include: Reinbold, Saseen, Singer, and Golbitz, who was re-elected for another term.

“The combination of continuing and new board members brings both stability and renewed strength to the SFTA board as it begins to develop its 2020-2025 strategic plan. Under Jonathan’s leadership and with the insight and experience of these board members, SFTA will keep delivering robust programs and services,” stated Katherine DiMatteo, SFTA Executive Director.
