In this interactive workshop, we’ll craft herbal preparations using FairWild-Certified plants and Regenerative Organic Certified® Calendula, while uncovering the people, places, and sourcing practices behind these botanicals. As we make a folk-method tincture and botanical body oil together, we’ll explore what responsible sourcing looks like beyond the label, from wild harvest and regenerative agriculture to certification, ingredient quality, and relationships that connect plants to finished products.

Lauren Nichols Sheffler is a bioregional herbalist and Senior Sourcing & Purchasing Manager at WishGarden Herbs. Educated through the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism, she is passionate about sustainable sourcing, plant conservation, and teaching educational community herbalism classes. Her work includes building relationships with organic farmers, ethical wildcrafters, and forest farmers, as well as practicing wildland stewardship herself, while advocating for responsible herbal industry practices with groups like the Sustainable Herbs Initiative.
