Tonya Sanchez – Executive Director

My journey with Provender Alliance traces back to the early 2000’s when I first began working at Organically Grown Company (OGC) but my love for the natural products industry has been a part of my life as far back as I can remember. My father ran a small produce distribution business throughout my childhood, and I have many fond memories of visiting natural food stores and co-ops along the west coast. While studying Marketing and General Management at Portland State University (2004) I continued my ‘organic education’ at OGC where I was fortunate enough to attend many Provender conferences.

Championing organic farmers has been the consistent thread of my work; as the Marketing and Communications Manager for OGC, through the creation of the Organicology conference and serving on OGC’s Board of Directors during the pivotal change to a sustainable trust ownership. I have been endlessly fortunate to have a connection to plants and the natural world in all my professional endeavors through food, herbs, and medicine.

My love for the Pacific Northwest only grew stronger when my husband and I made the decision to move out of the city and settle at the base of Mt. Hood, in Sandy, OR. Most days you can find us working on our property, hiking, gardening, cooking, and exploring with our dog, Pippen.

Provender has given so much to my professional and personal development over the past 20+ years and I am both excited and humbled to be giving back, by leading the alliance forward! This community is like no other, and I look forward to meeting and engaging with all its incredible members, supporters, and snack room lovers!
